Today is the six month anniversary of my brother's death. I never knew it would be this hard six months after. I can only imagine how his wife feels. (She is a nurse and has to work this afternoon.) Life goes on for the rest of us. The novel group meeting on the 16th is also his birthday. Mom commented on the way home from church that she is also feeling weepy. The pain of loss of a loved one stays for quite some time. Dad went to be with the Lord in 1995. I'd forgotten how long the sorrow stays around. :o( Not that it ever truly goes completely, but the newness of loss still feels fresh.
On a lighter note: I went to Lebanon on Saturday to Donaldsons Finer Chocolates. I wanted to see if their lemon creams were as good as Thorntons Chocolates. I found they are not as good. Thorntons Chocolates are probably the best chocolates I've ever tasted. Ordering Thorntons Chocolates online is expensive. What with having to pay international shipping charges. The closest comparison would be (American) Fannie May Candies. Fannie May has great mint meltaways and their strawberry creams and lemon creams are as good as Thorntons. AND..... I really like the strawberry creams and lemon creams. Needless to say, I won't be driving to Lebanon for lemon creams. :o) I can always get them online if I want them, from Fannie May. Does this make me a candy critic? Maybe. I just know what I like. :o) *yum*
The sweet corn vendors around here have had the best sweet corn. We've been eating a lot of it because it is so good this year. Thank you Lord for the food we eat and the heavenly quality!
SORRY about the post being all crammed together. For some reason, it doesn't seem to want to let me put spaces between the lines. *frown*
Have a great week everyone. Write your hearts thoughts. ~Susie
